Lawn Care & Landscaping in West Pennsboro Township
West Pennsboro is the township just west of Carlisle, with the Conodoguinet Creek along its north side and Route 11 along its south. Plainfield sits on Route 641 in the eastern part, with Greason, West Hill and Elliottson nearby; Mount Rock is on Route 11 and Big Spring is out toward Newville. The township doesn't pick up leaves, grass or limbs, so yard debris is on the owner.
We're based in Mechanicsburg and serve the Carlisle area. We mow, fertilize and treat weeds, seed, mulch, trim shrubs, do seasonal cleanups, clear brush, build small patios and walls and plow driveways for homes and businesses. The owner is on site for every job.

Good to Know
Yard Work Rules in West Pennsboro Township.
Local rules that come up with lawn, leaf, snow and patio work, with the source for each. Dates change year to year, so check the source before you plan around one.
No township leaf or yard waste pickup
West Pennsboro's trash program, run with Southampton Township, doesn't take grass clippings, leaves, limbs, tree trunks or shrubs, and the county's list of municipal yard waste programs has no West Pennsboro site. A fall cleanup or a brush removal takes them off the property.

Mailboxes, totes and snow
The township asks that mailboxes sit at least 4 feet from the edge of the blacktop, clear of the plows, and that trash totes and recycling bins stay away from the road in winter. It also posts a diagram of the right way to clear a driveway. Set up snow removal before the first storm.

Permits for patios, walls and driveways
Residential projects need a township zoning permit, and more than 1,000 square feet of earth disturbance also needs a stormwater management plan. A driveway onto a township road needs a driveway permit, and the roadmaster inspects the finished work; driveways onto state roads go through PennDOT. Ask the township before a patio, walkway or wall starts.

Overgrown lots and burning
The township has a brush, weed and grass ordinance (2008-09) and a burn ordinance (2010-01); both are posted on its ordinances page, and the official copies are at the township office. A regular mowing schedule keeps a lot from getting away, and brush removal takes the pile away when burning isn't the answer.
