Patios and walkways count as coverage

The borough's impervious coverage worksheet counts patios, walkways, paths and any paved or gravel surface toward the lot's limit, and the borough says a permit may be required before any project. Building inspections go through a third-party agency. Call the zoning officer before a patio or walkway starts.

Property maintenance

The borough has an exterior property maintenance ordinance (Ordinance 399) that covers grass, weeds and yard upkeep. A weekly or biweekly mowing schedule keeps a small lot in line without thinking about it.
