How we mow

Cool-season lawns in central Pennsylvania do best cut on the taller side, around three to four inches, and with no more than a third of the blade taken off at once. Taller grass shades out weeds and holds moisture through July and August.

Mowing season here usually runs from April into November. Weekly service keeps a lawn looking its best through the spring flush; biweekly works for slower-growing lawns and late summer. When the leaves come down, a fall cleanup gets them off the grass before winter.

Do you mow commercial properties?

Yes. We mow both homes and businesses, and plow their lots in winter. Tell us about the property on the quote form and we'll walk it with you.

Weekly or biweekly: which should I pick?

Weekly keeps the lawn at an even height through the fast-growing spring months. Biweekly suits smaller or slower-growing lawns. We can talk it through at the walkthrough.

Can you add fertilization or weed control?

Yes. Many customers pair mowing with our fertilization and weed control program, and with overseeding in the fall.
