Good to Know
Timing matters
Crabgrass prevention has to go down in early spring, before the soil warms enough for the seed to sprout. Around the time the forsythia blooms is the usual cue here.
Broadleaf weeds are easiest to control while they're actively growing, in fall and spring. Fall fertilizer is the most important feeding of the year for cool-season grass: it builds roots for the winter and a faster green-up next spring.
If you're planning to overseed, tell us. Some weed control products keep new seed from sprouting, so we plan the two together.

Is it safe for kids and pets?
We follow the product label for every application, including how long to keep people and pets off the lawn, and we'll tell you before we treat.
How many applications does a season take?
It depends on the lawn. We'll look at it with you and recommend a schedule; most programs run from early spring through fall.
Can I get fertilization without weed control?
Yes. We can do fertilizer only, weed control only, or both.
Do you also seed thin areas?
Yes. Overseeding in the fall pairs well with fertilization and fills in thin spots that weeds would otherwise take over.
