Wormleysburg, Cumberland County
Lawn Care & Landscaping in Wormleysburg
Wormleysburg is the small river borough at the west end of the Harvey Taylor and Market Street bridges, with quiet residential streets climbing the hill behind the river. Lots are modest, the borough vacuums leaves, and it's clear that clippings don't belong in the street.
We're based in Mechanicsburg, about fifteen minutes away. We mow, fertilize and treat weeds, mulch, trim shrubs and hedges, do seasonal cleanups, build small patios and walls and plow driveways for homes and businesses. The owner is on site for every job.

Good to Know
Yard Work Rules in Wormleysburg.
Local rules that come up with lawn, leaf, snow and patio work, with the source for each. Dates change year to year, so check the source before you plan around one.
Leaves and yard waste
The borough's leaf pickup runs from mid-October to late November, with leaves raked to the property edge nearest the road for weekly vacuuming. Yard waste goes out with the Tuesday trash, bagged or in tied bundles up to four feet and 40 pounds; grass clippings aren't collected. A fall cleanup hauls the leaves away instead.

Clippings off the street
The borough reminded residents in August 2026 that blowing yard clippings onto the street is dangerous and illegal, and to keep clippings off streets and sidewalks. Every mowing visit ends with the pavement blown clean, not the gutter.

Sidewalks after a snow
Borough code gives owners 24 hours to clear the sidewalk (§ 21-301), and dumping soil or waste on a street or alley is prohibited (§ 21-401). Set up snow removal before the first storm.

Fences, walls and the floodplain
Front-yard fences and walls top out at 48 inches (36 on a corner lot) and must be half open, and engineered retaining walls that hold back a slope are allowed by right (§ 27-710). Properties near the river may be in the mapped floodplain, where building permits are required. Call the borough's codes office before a patio or wall project starts.

Grass height and trees
Grass and weeds over six inches are a violation under borough code (§ 10-101), and branches have to clear 12 feet over the street and 8 feet over the sidewalk (Chapter 25). A regular mowing schedule and a yearly shrub trimming cover both.
